When feeding a 7-month-old baby, it is indicated:
- Give baby food of ground or shredded meat, mashed cereals and vegetables instead of soups whipped in a blender;
- The dessert must be fruit or fruit compote;
- Offer solid foods for the baby to train chewing and let him take it by hand, such as peeled banana, pieces of apple or pear, chips of meat or carrot, asparagus, beans, fish without bones and curd
- Start training the use of cup and mug;
- After the meal, offer bread or cookies for the baby to bite;
- The intake of 700 ml of milk per day;
- Cook the meat well to avoid parasites that may remain in the baby's intestine;
- Do not feed the baby at intervals because he ate little so he can eat well at the next meal;
- Store cooked fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours and meat for no more than 24 hours;
- Season meals with salt, onion and tomato, and fine herbs;
- Avoid using oil in the preparation of meals.
At this stage of life, the baby should receive 4 or 5 meals a day, depending on the volume the child eats, since more voluminous meals imply a longer interval between them.
Lunch preparation:
- 1 or 2 tablespoons of ground or cooked beef or chicken
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of a vegetable puree to choose from carrot, chayote, pumpkin, gherkin, turnip, caruru or spinach
- 2 tablespoons of mashed beans or peas
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of rice, pasta, oats, tapioca or sago
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of sweet potato or English mashed potatoes
The classic soup for dinner can be replaced by broth (150 to 220g) or 1 cooked yolk, 1 dessert spoon of some cereal and 1 or 2 tablespoons of vegetable puree.
