Understand the mechanism of action of buspirone
Through animal studies, buspirone is known to interact with the brain's serotonin, norepinephrine, acetylcholine and dopamine systems. This remedy intensifies the activity of specific noradrenergic and dopaminergic pathways and reduces the activity of serotonin and acetylcholine.
How to use
The dosage of Buspirone should be determined according to the doctor's recommendation, however, the recommended starting dose is 3 tablets of 5 mg per day, which can be increased, but which should not exceed 60 mg per day.
Buspirone should be taken during meals to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.
Possible side effects
The most common side effects of buspirone include tingling, dizziness, headaches, nervousness, drowsiness, mood swings, palpitations, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, insomnia, depression, anger and tiredness.
Who should not use
Buspirone is contraindicated in children under 18 years of age, in pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as in people with a history of seizures or who use other anxiolytics and antidepressants.
In addition, it should also not be used in people with severe kidney and liver failure or with epilepsy and should be used with caution in situations of acute angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, drug addiction and galactose intolerance.
