Although the techniques for penis enlargement are widely sought and practiced, they are generally not recommended by the urologist, because they have no scientific proof and can even result in consequences for man, such as pain, nerve damage, clot formation, damage to the tissues and, in some cases, erection problems.
On the other hand, in the case of micropenis, which is a rare condition in which the man has a much smaller than average penis, the urologist, after evaluation, may indicate the performance of surgery to enlarge the penis, however this surgery is delicate and may be associated with some risks, in addition to not being indicated in other situations.
Due to the lack of proof of the existing techniques to increase the size of the penis, the most recommended is to consult the urologist in case of dissatisfaction with the size of the genitalia before starting any treatment or carrying out the existing techniques.

The techniques for penis enlargement are mostly performed by teenagers, who believe they have had results, however the penis enlargement is due to the normal growth process, and is not necessarily related to the techniques. In addition, it is important that before performing any technique, the urologist is consulted so that the situation can be assessed and that some type of treatment can be indicated, such as the use of the hormone testosterone, for example, which can stimulate the penis growth.
The techniques commonly used to increase penis size are:
1. Jelqing exercise
The Jelqing exercise or technique is seen as a natural way of enlarging the penis, since it has no contraindications or associated costs, and is based on the fact that it increases blood circulation in the sexual organ, which could lengthen and thicken the penis. .
Despite being considered safe, the Jelqing technique has no scientific proof and, therefore, is not recommended by doctors. In addition, in case of incorrect, aggressive movements or if the exercises are done very frequently, there may be pain, irritation, injury and damage to the tissue of the penis.
2. Stretching devices
Stretching devices are usually attached to the base of the penis glans and are designed to put pressure on the body of the penis in order to promote its stretching. Continued use of this type of device is believed to be able to promote penis enlargement during erection.
So far, few studies have indicated the positive effects of stretching devices to enlarge the penis and, therefore, are not recommended by urologists. In addition, the use of this type of device, in addition to not being comfortable, can create excessive force on the penis and lead to injuries, nerve damage and clot formation.
3. Vacuum pumps
Vacuum pumps are usually indicated by the urologist in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, because they promote an increase in the amount of blood in the penis during erection. Therefore, the pump must be used in accordance with medical advice.
In the case of the use of vacuum pumps to enlarge the penis, there is no scientific evidence, besides that the effect is temporary, only during erection, not being indicated by the doctor, because in the absence of changes, the frequent use of the vacuum pump it can result in damage to the tissues of the penis and lead to erectile problems.
4. Use of pills
There are currently several pills and creams believed to contain vitamins and hormones that help to increase the size of the penis due to the fact that it increases the amount of blood in the penis and promotes a longer lasting erection. However, the function of these medications is to promote erection and not to increase penile size and volume.
In addition, some pills can be harmful to man's health and can interact with other drugs that the man may be using.
5. Use of rings
The idea of wearing rings on the penis is due to the increase in the amount of blood in the body of the penis during erection, which could cause a temporary increase effect. However, this technique has no scientific evidence and is also considered dangerous, because if the ring is too tight or if it stays on the penis for a long time it can cut the blood flow in the region and bring complications to the man.
6. Penis filling
Penis filling, also known as penile bioplasty, is a recent technique that claims to be effective in increasing the circumference and, in some cases, the length of the penis, requiring the injection of hyaluronic acid under the skin of the penis.
Despite being a simple procedure, it is not advised by the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery due to the associated risks, because, depending on the quantity and quality of the applied substance, there may be a severe inflammatory response, increased risk of infection and necrosis of the genital organ, being amputation is required.
In addition to the risks associated with the procedure, further studies are also necessary for the procedure to be standardized and for its long-term effects to be proven, as well as the time between completion of the results and the appearance of the results.
7. Penis enlargement surgery
Surgery to increase the size of the penis is the last option that should be considered by the urologist to enlarge the penis due to the risks associated with the procedure, such as increased risk of infection, the presence of scars and deformities that may end up making erection difficult. The changes that can be seen after surgery are usually related to the aspiration of excess fat at the site, which makes the penis appear larger, but in fact is the same size.
Thus, surgery to increase is not indicated in situations where the man is dissatisfied with the size, since it has many risks and is not considered effective, being only taken into account in case of micropenis when other treatments were not effective.
