Rosehip oil is an oil obtained from the seeds of the wild rosehip plant that is rich in fatty acids, such as linoleic acid, in addition to vitamin A and some ketone compounds that have a regenerating and emollient effect on the skin, helping to mitigate stretch marks, keloids, scars and wrinkles and expression lines.
In addition, rosehip oil is able to reinforce the synthesis of collagen and elastin, which strengthens and gives firmness to the skin, and is also responsible for deeply nourishing it. Thus, rosehip oil is a great option to moisturize and soften the skin.
What is the use of rosehip oil
Rosehip oil is especially suitable for very dry and rough skin, as it is rich in oleic and linoleic acid and vitamin A, having a regenerating effect on the skin. Thus, this oil can be used in several situations such as:
- Burn treatment;
- Suture healing;
- Attenuation of old scars and stretch marks;
- Ulcerations;
- Diaper rash;
- Psoriasis and skin dermatoses;
- Smooth and hide wrinkles and fine lines
- Moisturize the skin;
- Prevent premature skin aging.
In addition, rosehip oil can also be used during pregnancy in order to prevent the development of stretch marks, in which case it is important that it is done according to the dermatologist's indication.
How to use
To use rosehip oil, it is recommended that a few drops be applied to the skin, massaging with circular movements for 2 to 3 minutes, until the oil is completely absorbed by the skin. The oil can be applied 1 to 2 times a day, especially in the drier regions or with scars, stretch marks, wrinkles or expression lines, for example.
If used to prevent stretch marks, it can be recommended by the dermatologist to be applied at least twice a day. It is also possible to use rosehip oil to make a cream, which can be applied to the face or stretch marks, for example.
How to prepare rosehip oil
It is possible to prepare rosehip oil at home to nourish and brighten the skin, being necessary for this:

- 30 to 40 grams of rosehip seeds;
- Almond oil;
- Glass pot or jar with lid;
- Dropper.

First, it is recommended to cut the seeds in half and then place them in a glass jar. Then add enough almond oil to cover all the seeds, cover the jar and let it stand for approximately 20 days. After that time, strain the oil and transfer to a dropper.
