Juices for urinary tract infections are great options to help treat the infection, as the fruits used to prepare these juices are diuretics and contain vitamin C, which help strengthen the immune system and prevent bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract, helping to eliminate these microorganisms.
Urinary tract infection is very common in women, especially during pregnancy, with symptoms such as pain and burning when urinating, as well as feeling of heaviness in the bladder and frequent urge to go to the bathroom.
Some juices that can help in the treatment of urinary tract infection are:
1. Watermelon and orange juice
Ingredients
- 1 slice of watermelon about 5 cm;
- 2 oranges;
- 1/4 pineapple.
Preparation mode
Peel the oranges and separate them into segments, cut the watermelon into pieces and peel the pineapple. Beat all ingredients in a blender and strain as needed. Drink about 3 glasses of the juice a day until the symptoms disappear.
2. Cranberry juice
Cranberry juice also helps to treat and prevent urinary infections, as it lubricates the bladder walls, preventing the adhesion and development of bacteria.
Ingredients
- 60 mL of water;
- 125 mL of red cranberry juice (cranberry) without sugar;
- 60 mL of unsweetened apple juice.
Preparation mode
Mix all the ingredients and drink several glasses of this juice throughout the day, at the first sign of a urinary tract infection. People susceptible to this type of infections, who suffer from recurrent urinary tract infections, should drink two glasses a day as a preventive measure.
3. Green juice
Ingredients
- 3 cabbage leaves;
- 1 cucumber;
- 2 apples;
- Parsley;
- half a glass of water.
Preparation mode
Peel the apples and the cucumber, wash all the ingredients well and mix everything in a blender and, finally, add the water. Drink 2 glasses of this juice a day.
These juices should only be used as a complement to the treatment of urinary tract infection that is usually done with antibiotics prescribed by the urologist.
