Annita is a medicine that has nitazoxanide in its composition, indicated for the treatment of infections such as viral gastroenteritis caused by rotavirus and norovirus, helminthiasis caused by worms, such as Enterobius vermicularis, Ascaris lumbricoides, Strongyloides stercoralis, Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus, Trichuris trichiura, Taenia sp and Hymenolepis nana, amoebiasis, giardiasis, cryptosporidiasis, blastocystosis, balantidiasis and isosporiasis.
The Annita remedy is available in tablets or oral suspension, and can be purchased at pharmacies, for a price of about 20 to 50 reais, upon presentation of a prescription.
How to use
Annita medicine in oral suspension or coated tablets should be taken with food to ensure high absorption of the medicine. The dose should be prescribed by the doctor according to the problem to be treated:

Can Annita be used against the new coronavirus?
To date, there are no scientific studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of the Annita drug in eliminating the new coronavirus from the body, responsible for COVID-19.
Therefore, this medication should only be used to treat gastrointestinal infections and under the guidance of a doctor.
Possible side effects
The most common side effects occur in the gastrointestinal tract, especially nausea accompanied by headache, loss of appetite, vomiting, abdominal discomfort and colic.
There are also reports of a change in the color of urine and sperm to greenish yellow, which is due to the coloring of some of the components of the drug's formula. If the altered color persists after the use of the medication is finished, consult a doctor.
Who should not use
This medication should not be used in people with diabetes, liver failure, kidney failure and hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
