Play stimulates child development, being a great strategy for parents to adopt on a daily basis because they create a greater emotional bond with the child and improve the child's motor and intellectual development.
The exercises can be as simple as hide and seek, but they are very useful because the children's brain allows the creation of new brain connections, which are fundamental in the learning process. Some exercises that help develop the baby's brain are:
1- Play with the body
Playing with the body can be done as follows:
- Take the baby's hand;
- Place the baby's hand on the body part while saying what he is touching;
- Reverse the game and touch the baby as it says the part of the body that is touching.
Between six and nine months, babies need tactile experiences to "grow" the brain and develop both the brain and the body.
2- Hide and seek
To play hide and seek with your baby and develop your brain you must:
- Holding a toy that the baby likes in front of him;
- Hide the toy;
- Encourage the baby to look for the toy by asking questions like "Where's the toy? Is it in heaven?" and then look up at the sky or "Or is it on the ground?" and look at the floor;
- Asking "Is the toy in my hands?" and answer: "Yes, it's here".
As the baby develops, he will look for the toy as soon as he hides it, so this game is a great exercise to stimulate the baby's brain.
3- Play with the lid of the pan
Play with the lid of the pan can be done as follows:
- Place the lid of the pan on the floor, face down, with a toy hidden under it;
- Say "One, two, three, magic" and remove the lid from the top of the toy;
- Hide the toy again and help the baby lift the lid, repeating "One, two, three, magic" again.
This exercise also stimulates the baby's development, but it should only be done after 6 months of age.
