Miconazole nitrate is a drug with anti-fungal action, which is widely used to treat infections caused by yeast fungi on the skin or mucous membranes.
This substance can be found in pharmacies, in the form of cream and lotion, for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin, and in gynecological cream, for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis.

What is it for
Miconazole nitrate in vaginal cream is indicated for the treatment of infections in the vulva, vagina or perianal region caused by the fungusCandida, called Candidiasis.

How to use
The miconazole nitrate vaginal cream should be used with the applicators contained in the package along with the cream, which have a capacity of about 5 g of the medicine. The use of the drug must follow the following steps:
- Fill the inside of the applicator with the cream, adapting it to the tip of the tube and squeezing its bottom;
- Insert the applicator gently into the vagina as deeply as possible;
- Push the plunger of the applicator so that it is empty and the cream is deposited on the bottom of the vagina;
- Remove the applicator;
- Discard the applicator, if the package contains sufficient quantity for treatment.
The cream should be used preferably at night, for 14 days in a row, or as directed by the doctor.
During the treatment, the usual hygiene measures must be maintained and other measures adopted, such as keeping the intimate area dry, avoiding sharing towels, avoiding the use of tight and synthetic clothes, avoiding foods with sugar and drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day. Possible side effects
Although rare, miconazole nitrate can cause some reactions, such as local irritation, itching and burning and redness in the skin, as well as abdominal cramps and hives.
Who should not use
This medication is contraindicated for people with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula and should not be used by pregnant or lactating women without a doctor's recommendation.
