The most suitable medicine to reduce fever is paracetamol, as it is a substance that, used correctly, can be used safely, in almost all cases, even in children or pregnant women, and the dose must be adapted, especially in the age group up to 30 kg.
Other examples of remedies for fever are dipyrone, ibuprofen or aspirin, however, these drugs have more contraindications and side effects compared to paracetamol and, therefore, should only be used with the guidance of the doctor.
The dosage of these drugs should be determined by the doctor, taking into account the age, weight and symptoms of each person.
Medicine to lower fever in the baby
The best remedies for lowering fever in the baby are paracetamol (Tylenol), infant dipyrone (Novalgina infant) and ibuprofen (Alivium, Doraliv), which must be administered through pharmaceutical forms adapted for the age, such as oral suspension, oral drops or suppositories, for example. These medications also help in relieving pain.
These remedies should only be taken, preferably, from 3 months of age, every 6 or 8 hours, depending on the pediatrician's indication and according to the child's body weight. In some cases, the doctor may suggest that two medications be added every 4 hours, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, for example, to reduce the symptoms of fever.
To help lower the baby's fever, you can also remove excess clothing, offer cool drinks, or wet your child's face and neck with damp towels. See more tips on what to do to lower baby fever.
Medicine to lower fever in pregnant women
Although paracetamol (Tylenol) is considered safe for use by pregnant women, it should be avoided as much as possible, as well as other medicines without medical advice. It is also important to note that many drugs with paracetamol in the composition have other substances associated with them that are contraindicated in pregnancy.

How to prepare a home remedy for fever
A great home remedy for fever is to take a warm tea of ginger, mint and elderflower, about 3 to 4 times a day, as it increases sweating, which helps to reduce fever.
To prepare the tea, simply mix 2 teaspoons of ginger, 1 teaspoon of mint leaves and 1 teaspoon of dried elderberry in 250 mL of boiling water, strain and drink.
Another natural measure that can help lower the fever is to place a towel or sponge wet in cold water on the face, chest or wrists, replacing them whenever they are no longer cold. Check out more homemade recipes to lower the fever.
