Tagrisso is an anti-cancer drug that is used to treat non-small cell lung cancer.
This medicine contains Osimertinib, a substance that blocks the function of EGFR, a cancer cell receptor that controls its growth and multiplication. Thus, the tumor cells are unable to develop properly and the speed of cancer development slows down, improving the outcome of other treatments, such as chemotherapy.
Tagrisso is produced by AstraZeneca laboratories and can be purchased at pharmacies with a prescription, in the form of 40 or 80 mg tablets.
Price
Although this drug has already been approved by Anvisa in Brazil, it is not yet being marketed.

Tagrisso is indicated for the treatment of adults with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer or metastases with a positive T790M mutation in the EGFR receptor gene.
How to use
Treatment with this medication should always be guided by the oncologist, according to the degree of cancer development.
However, the recommended dose is 1 80 mg tablet or 2 40 mg tablet once a day.
Possible side effects
The use of Tagrisso can cause some side effects such as diarrhea, stomach pain, hives and itchy skin and changes in blood tests, especially in the number of platelets, leukocytes and neutrophils.
Who should not use
Tagrisso should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as by people who are allergic to any of the components of the formula. In addition, you should not take St. John's wort during treatment with this medicine.
