Indications for Cisapride
Constipation; indigestion; gastroesophageal reflux; anorexia nervosa; non-ulcer dyspepsia; nausea; vomiting; heartburn.
Side Effects of Cisapride
Cardiac arrhythmia; increased blood pressure; increased heart rate; noise in the belly; colic; convulsion; diarrhea; Headache; stomach ache; palpitation; rhinitis; dizziness.
Contraindications for Cisapride
Pregnancy Risk C; lactating women; history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
How to use Cisapride
Oral use
Administer the medicine 15 minutes before meals.
Adults
- High digestive discomfort and gastroesophageal reflux: Administer 5 to 10 mg of Cisapride, 3 times a day.
- Esophagitis: Administer 5 to 10 mg of Cisapride, 4 times a day, the last dose before bedtime.
- Constipation: Administer 20 to 40 mg of Cisapride twice a day.
Children
- Gastroesophageal reflux: Administer 0.15 to 0.3 mg of Cisapride per kg of body weight per dose, 3 to 4 times a day.
