Anti-dandruff shampoos are indicated for the treatment of dandruff when it is present, not necessary when it is already controlled.
These shampoos have ingredients that refresh the scalp and reduce the oiliness of this region, being great to end the dandruff and the itch that it causes.
Industrialized shampoos
Some great examples of dandruff shampoos are:
- Clear anti-dandruff shampoo. Approximate price: 8 reais;
- Anti-dandruff shampoo medicasp. Approximate price: 25 reais;
- Vichy anti-dandruff shampoo. Approximate price: 52 reais;
- Anti-dandruff shampoo from O Boticário. Approximate price: 20 reais;
- Anti-dandruff shampoo ketoconazole. Approximate price: 35 reais;
- Tarflex Shampoo. Approximate price: 40 reais. See the instructions for this shampoo.
Shampoo should be used daily or every time you wash your hair. The shampoo should be left on for at least 2 minutes and then rinse and apply a conditioner, along the length of the hair to the ends.
Those who have dry or damaged hair can use these shampoos only at the root of the hair and do not rub the length of the strands, allowing only the foam to pass through this part of the hair. This will be enough to thoroughly clean the root without damaging the length of the strands.
To make the hair softer and silky you can use a mask, massage cream or conditioner on the length of the hair leaving a distance of about 3 or 4 fingers from the root.
Natural shampoo to control dandruff
There are natural shampoos prepared with specific herbs that help to control dandruff in a natural way. These can be purchased online or at health food stores and some pharmacies, but are generally more expensive than industrialized ones. However, you can buy the ingredients at these stores and prepare your shampoo at home, which is more economical.

Celery water to control dandruff
Another possibility is to wash your hair once a week with a tea prepared with celery, because it also helps to control the oiliness of the scalp, combating dandruff naturally.
How to prepare: boil 1 liter of water with 1 stalk of celery cut into slices and leave on the fire for 5 to 10 minutes. Then you should strain this mixture discarding the chopped celery, and store the liquid part in a plastic or glass container to use whenever you wash your head. In this case, you should wash your head normally and finally, pour some of this water on your scalp.
