The most suitable teas to loosen the phlegm and help in the treatment of bronchitis can be prepared with medicinal plants that have an expectorant action such as eucalyptus, alteia and mullein. Mango juice and watercress syrup are also great homemade options that help to complement the treatment indicated by the doctor.
These ingredients have an anti-inflammatory action that helps the body to naturally clean the pulmonary bronchi, facilitating breathing and, therefore, this tea complements the drug treatment of bronchitis.
1. Eucalyptus tea
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon chopped eucalyptus leaves
- 1 cup of water
Preparation mode
Boil the water and then add the eucalyptus leaves. Cover, let it warm, strain and drink next. If desired, sweeten with a little honey. Take 2 times a day.
2. Mullein with alteia
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon dried mullein leaf
- 1 teaspoon of alteia root
- 250 ml of water
Preparation mode:
Boil the water, put it out and then add the medicinal plants. The container must be covered for approximately 15 minutes, and after being strained it is ready for use. You should drink 3-4 cups daily.
3. Multi-herbal tea

Despite its benefits, guaco tea cannot be used by everyone, being contraindicated for pregnant women, individuals who take anticoagulant drugs, suffer from high blood pressure or chronic liver diseases.
5. Watercress syrup
The homemade syrup prepared with pineapple and watercress because it has expectorant and decongestant properties that reduce the symptoms of asthma, bronchitis and cough as well as the other ingredients, and therefore it is a great therapeutic complement for bronchitis.
Ingredients:
- 200 g of turnip
- 1/3 of the chopped watercress sauce
- 1/2 pineapple cut into slices
- 2 chopped beets
- 600 ml each of water
- 3 cups brown sugar

6. Watercress juice

- 4 watercress stalks
- 3 pineapple slices

7. Orange juice with carrots
Carrot and orange juice for bronchitis is an excellent home remedy because it contains properties that help protect and regenerate mucous membranes, are expectorants and decrease the formation of phlegm in the nasal cavities that impairs breathing.

- pure juice of 1 orange
- 2 branches of watercress
- ½ peeled carrot

8. Mango juice
