Dieloft TPM, or Dieloft, is an antidepressant medication indicated by the psychiatrist to prevent and treat symptoms of depression and other psychological changes. The active ingredient of this medication is sertraline, which acts by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the central nervous system, leaving serotonin in circulation and promoting the improvement of symptoms presented by the person.
In addition to being indicated for psychological changes, Dieloft can also be indicated to help relieve the symptoms of premenstrual tension, PMS, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and its use should be recommended by the gynecologist.
What is it for
Dieloft TPM is indicated for the treatment of the following situations:
- Premenstrual tension;
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder;
- Panic Disorder;
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in pediatric patients.
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder;
- Major depression.
The use of medication should be done according to the doctor's guidance, since the dosage and treatment time may be different according to the situation to be treated and severity.
How to use
In general, it is recommended 1 tablet of 200 mg per day, which can be taken in the morning or at night, with or without food, since the tablets are coated.
In the case of children, treatment is usually done with doses up to 25 mg per day in children between 6 and 12 years old and 50 mg per day in children over 12 years old.
Side effects
Side effects are generally of low incidence and low intensity, the most common of which are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dry mouth, drowsiness, vertigo and tremor.
With the use of this medication, decreased sexual desire, failure to ejaculate, impotence and, in women, an absence of orgasm can also occur.
Contraindications
Dieloft TPM is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Sertraline or other components of its formula, in addition to not being recommended in case of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
The treatment of elderly or patients with hepatic or renal impairment should be done with care and under medical supervision.
